POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking an empathetic Resident Care Attendant who is dedicated to the well-being of our residents. The Resident Care Attendant ensures the comfort, well-being, safety, and general needs of residents by providing hygiene and comfort care. This is a permanent part-time position, 20 hours per week on a 7/14 schedule, with daytime shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and one weekend out of two.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies
- Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around
- Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
- In collaboration with the different teams, carry out health and hygienic care to the residents while maintaining their dignity and integrity .
- Proactively assist and support the residents
- Respond to all emergency situations
- While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.
- Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
- PDSB training
- Law 90 training
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position
