POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The LPN team administers medication and ensures resident records are up-to-date in the computer system. They respond to emergencies and work closely with the nursing team and other departments (kitchen, dining room, housekeeping, reception, etc.).

This is a permanent part-time position, 15 hours per week, 3 hours per day, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer medication according to safety principles and the code of ethics
  • Collaborate in maintaining the bond of trust with the families or loved ones of the residents as well as with the various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the actors concerned
  • Ensure the follow-up of the medical file as well as the prescriptions at the request of the doctor or pharmacist
  • Follow up on residents' medical files and prescriptions at the request of the doctor, pharmacist or CISSS
  • Notify the nurse and/or the person in charge of health services of any changes observed in the state of health of the residents
  • Record notes in residents' files in accordance with the requirements of the Order of Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses of Quebec (OIIAQ) and keep them rigorously up to date
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Collect degree in nursing (DEC) or a proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • Member of the OIIAQ
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
  • Good sense of interpersonal communication
  • Good team player
