POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Le Dufferin Residence, located in Valleyfield, is currently seeking an empathetic Resident Care Attendant who is dedicated to the well-being of residents.
The Resident Care Attendant ensures the comfort, safety, and general needs of residents by providing hygiene and comfort care.
This is a part-time, on-call position, with day/evening/night shifts and weekends as needed.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Notify the nurse and/or the person in charge of health services of any changes observed in the state of health of the residents
- Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies
- Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around
- In collaboration with the different teams, carry out health and hygienic care to the residents while maintaining their dignity and integrity .
- Proactively assist and support the residents
- Respond to all emergency situations
- Recognized PAB training (DEP)
- PDSB training
- Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
- Skill 6 (mandatory)
- Patient attendant training or RAC (recognition of prior learning) or completion of the first year of the auxiliary nurse course with proof of successful course completion.
