POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Director of Legal Services and Credit, the candidate will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to the representation of the various owners of multi-residential buildings and seniors' residences (RPA) under our management. She will be responsible for assisting team members and carrying out legal tasks and projects assigned to her. The person in this position must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The position is located in downtown Montreal.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director, Legal Services and Credit
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by his team
- Execute judgments according to existing guidelines
- Legally support and respond to general managers and regional directors in their daily management issues
- Manage legal files under his/her responsibility with minimal supervision
- Management of various legal requests from operations in the multi-residential sector and retirement homes (RPA)
- Prepare and assist witnesses for hearings before the TAL
- Prepare and draft legal procedural documents
- Representation, in claim and defense, before the Administrative Housing Tribunal (TAL) and/or before small claims and on appeal to the Court of Quebec in disputes of all kinds and which may be complex, if necessary
- Research and apply case law and current laws
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles
- DEP or DEC in administration, accounting or office automation, or any other combination of training and relevant experience
- Perfect bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written - essential
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ease of learning and a strong interest in the legal or real estate sector
