POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Head Chef, the incumbent assists the chef and cooks in their tasks. They help prepare cold dishes and desserts, cut and peel vegetables and fruit, plate dishes, prepare meal carts, and participate in the maintenance of equipment and the kitchen with the rest of the team.
TEMPORARY position (maternity leave replacement), part-time, 16 hours per week, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., weekends only.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Any other related tasks
- Collaborate with other colleagues in the kitchen and dining room to provide residents with quality service
- Assemble plates of food
- Clean kitchen equipment
- Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
- Peel and cut vegetables for meals
- A minimum of one year of experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of senior residences, a major asset
- Good team player
- Cooking training, an asset
