DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain the garage in a clean, neat, and well-organized manner
- Clean and organize common areas in the garage
- Day-to-day servicing of buses and other school division owned vehicles
- Annual safety inspection of buses
- Wash and clean division vehicles, spare buses and route buses as required
- Pick up and deliver buses and other division vehicles as required
- Ensure spare buses are ready for their next use
- Manage appropriate inventory levels and ensure parts are in stock
- Maintain effective communications with the transportation team
- Deal tactfully with staff and the public
- Practice safe work habits at all times
- Promote the vision, mission, principles and goals of the Chinook School Division
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Hold and maintain a valid “Class 1-5” driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to obtain a 1A driver’s classification.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Journeyperson’s Designation is an asset.
- Experience in working on related vehicles.
- Strong mechanical ability with demonstrated capabilities in the area of troubleshooting.
- Good physical condition:
- Experience with gas and diesel engines is an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of required tools and equipment.
- Strong computer/technical skills

- Non-Journeyperson: $28.27 - $32.61 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Journeyperson: $34.10 - $38.51 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
