Position Description

The Temerty Centre for Therapeutic Brain Intervention is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Social Worker 2 to provide psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy (PAP). In this position, you will work on several clinical trials that will assess the clinical effects of PAP and the feasibility and tolerability of psilocybin in individuals with treatment-resistant depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, and other psychiatric conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to provide PAP, a form of non-directive therapy, during psilocybin dosing sessions to research participants. You will also be responsible for preparing research participants for PAP sessions and providing follow-up and de-brief therapy to participants who have completed PAP. You will attend training sessions, provide specialist assessment of a patient’s suitability for PAP, and work closely with another clinician to provide PAP to research participants. Additional responsibilities include administering study assessments and standardized clinical scales to participants, such as structured interviews, self-report measures, and clinician-rated instruments, in accordance with the study protocol. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of study records during assessments and therapy sessions.

You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable CAMH policies, as well as all regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.

The successful candidate will possess a Masters of Social Work degree combined with two (2) years of post-graduate work experience. You will be a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers. Experience in a mental health/addiction setting is required. Experience in a multidisciplinary teamwork setting is required. Preference will be given to those who have expertise in Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy (PAP). Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written communication skills, computer skills, including word-processing, electronic communication, and workload measures are essential. Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset.
