This position is intended for a person who is passionate about biomedical innovation, rigorous, autonomous and collaborative. The Specialized Research Professional will contribute to building a research environment of excellence and to promoting the know-how of the CHU de Québec – Université Laval Research Centre in the field of 3D models by tissue engineering in oncology.

Under the supervision of the platform's scientific managers, the incumbent will ensure the scientific and technical coordination of activities related to the design, manufacture and operation of 3D cellular models. It will play a central role in supporting research, training and methodological development.

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Advise and support research teams in the development, optimization and validation of 3D cellular models adapted to their experimental needs, as well as participate in the production of these models ;
  • Contribute to the writing and preparation of grant applications, scientific reports and experimental protocols ;
  • Ensure the day-to-day management of the platform: project planning, resource allocation, schedule monitoring and communication with users ;
  • Supervise users and technical staff, provide training on the platform's equipment and procedures ;
  • Develop, document and standardize experimental methods ;
  • Collaborate on the evaluation and integration of new technologies (biomanufacturing, microfluidics, advanced imaging, 3D printing) ;
  • Maintain a high level of scientific and technical quality, including traceability, quality assurance and biosecurity ;
  • Participate in scientific and technological monitoring in the field of 3D models and cell bioengineering ;
  • Contribute to the dissemination of results and the promotion of the platform's activities within the centre and to external partners.

Requirements

Training Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or master's degree with relevant experience in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • Number of years of experience: 5 years
  • Frech: Intermediate level (spoken)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Excellent written communication skills, in English.
  • Strong sense of planning, organization and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering teamwork.

 

Skills and expertise sought :

  • Biofabrication and microfabrication
  • 2D and 3D cell culture
  • Cellular imaging, including atomic force microscopy
  • 3D printing and design of matrices or biomaterials

Conditions of employment

- Place of work: CHU de Québec Research Centre, Hôpital de l'Enfant Jésus site;
- Schedule: 35 hours per week during the day (Monday to Friday) possibility of 4 days a week 28 hours ;
- Start date: as soon as possible ;
- Duration: 12 months (with possibility of renewal) ;
- Remuneration: according to the salary structure in place ;
- Vacation: 20 days ;
- Public holidays: 13 days ;
- Sick Leave: 9.6 days
