Description

ROLE SUMMARY :
The Heritage College Nursing Program provides a part-time, three-year RN competency-based diploma program. Given that nursing is a practice-based profession, we believe that clinical experience is a vital and integral component of the curriculum, providing students with hands-on opportunities to practice their nursing skills under direct supervision of their clinical instructor. The clinical instructor supports student learning, liaises with assigned nurses in a clinical unit and collaborates with the Faculty Team Leader. The clinical instructor role is an essential and powerful component of nursing education.

DUTIES:
The College is seeking to hire a part-time professor (Clinical Instructor) to teach the following credited course (clinical) within the Nursing program in the Winter 2027.

180-D27-HR Perioperative Nursing
This course integrates theory, lab, and clinical components to develop essential nursing skills and physical examination techniques for preoperative and postoperative surgical care. Students build upon the nursing process to enhance assessment, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills. Emphasis is placed on patient-centered care, including pain management, wound care, infection prevention, and the recognition of potential complications. Fundamental concepts of health promotion, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration are applied to optimize surgical outcomes. Through hands-on practice in high-fidelity simulation labs and diverse clinical settings, students refine their technical and critical thinking skills, preparing them for the complexities of perioperative nursing.
