Description
The auto body estimator is responsible for assessing damage to vehicles involved in accidents, preparing accurate estimates of repair costs, and providing professional customer service throughout the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect damaged vehicles and identify necessary repairs
Prepare detailed estimates (parts, labor, paint)
Use estimation software (e.g., Audatex, Mitchell)
Communicate with insurance companies
Explain repairs and costs to customers
Track cases and ongoing repairs
Collaborate with technicians and the parts department
Ensure compliance with quality standards and deadlines
Requirements
Experience in auto estimating or auto body repair (a major asset)
Knowledge of repair processes and insurance
Proficiency with computer tools and estimating software
Excellent customer service skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Qualifications
DEP in auto body repair or equivalent experience (a plus)
Valid driver’s license
Salary: Starting at $27/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
