Senior Manager: Mechanical and Physical Engineering

  • Strong experience in M & P Engineering and Design
  • Manage a team of 15-20 aerospace engineers , build descriptions for new opportunities, assist talent acquisition in hiring process as well as post-hiring activities
  • Act as a personnel manager for a growing a large team of aerospace engineers – support onboarding/welcoming, annual goal setting, training and development plans, annual performance feedback and compensation review, active management of performance improvement plans when required
Key responsibilities:
  • Review and evaluate work packages, SOW’s, job descriptions shared by the client related to various mechanical and system design activities
  • Develop strong understanding of the client organization and development process, to help Advise on improvements to team structure, or efficient ways of working within our teams, seek potential for automation or elimination of manual tasks
  • Based in Montreal and knowing the local market well (the companies, the talent pool)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated ability (10 years) in engineering or design functions at one or more aerospace companies
  • 5 years as a people manager with responsibilities for hiring/firing, compensation, performance management, career development
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, negotiation and persuasion skills
