The opportunity Reporting to the Senior Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) Project Planning & Analysis, the Senior PMO Analyst is responsible for providing project related controls and governance support functions within the CWB Project Management Office (PMO) team. This critical role serves as the centralized information hub and analysis centre for all team members, vendor partners, and business stakeholders. Armed with business intelligence/analytics experience this position serves as the data analysis expert of the PMO. Supporting a rapidly growing team responsible for driving key strategic deliverables, the successful incumbent will have their finger on the pulse of our organization.Day-to-day activitiesData Analysis and Reporting Support the operation of the PMO’s Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) system, including the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for enhancementsSupport PMO controls through the development of reports for key performance indicators across projectsMonitor PMO control reports to identify data issues in project repositories and then work with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to correct data issuesMaintain and produce PMO reporting, dashboards and presentations of trending reportsSupport PMO Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC) process maps maintenance and support continuous improvements to PDLCResearch & recommend the most effective method to track PMO/Project key performance indicators to identify trends and potential data issues in the project repositories.Use Business Intelligence tools (Microsoft PowerBI) to automate PMO and Project reporting and dashboards suitable for distribution to diverse stakeholders including Executives, PMO Management, Project Managers and/or Project Teams.Design, create and maintain PMO and Project reporting and dashboards and consult with the IS BI Team to ensure reporting complies with standards established for CWB.Provide advice and effective challenge from a systems perspective during the design and development of PMO reports for the PMO team.Document systems, data lineage, and report procedures for end user manuals and training material reference.Provide training to the PMO team or other report users that highlights ways to leverage technology to increase process efficiency and effectiveness.SharePoint administration for the PMO repository, including design, creation and maintenance of the SharePoint interface, ensuring information is appropriately accessible and site layouts are intuitiveBuild and present real-time data from PMO Reporting through PMO SharePoint sites as appropriateEstablish, maintain and periodically attest to security controls on PMO artifacts and critical files to be compliant with CWB guidelinesThe Senior PMO Analyst is accountable for providing analytical support to PMO team for all project-related activities associated with bank projects including: PMO reporting, business case support, some financial analysis etc. This includes working with the PMs on reporting management for all aspects of the projects ensuring timely input and tracking is completed for benefits, risks, actions, issues, dependencies, scheduling, milestones, executive status reporting, etc.PMO Governance SupportAs directed by the Senior Manager, PMO, this position will take lead with limited guidance to perform the following PMO governance support activities:Support in creating and maintaining PMO Governance templates.Maintaining up-to-date project documentation that is residing with PMO.Follow up with the programs and projects within the portfolio to ensure that timely and accurate document submissions are made.Support the Project Management Team in the use of the Project and Portfolio Management system.Produce PMO presentations and help lead the rollout to the applicable teams including Leadership.Act as a reference point for PMO questions and information.Contribute to the flow of communication within the team, by actively participating in team meetings and championing support for the project management team.Perform other such roles and duties as may be required by the Manager, PMO Operations in supporting the PMO controls and governance functions for project management.People First SupportAs directed by the Senior Manager, PMO, provide support to ensure client and user impacts are validated and tracked with the project management team throughout the PMO project development lifecycle practices, including implementation of effective processes to review the enablement of defined benefits.Keys to successEducationAn undergraduate diploma or degree in business, commerce, information technology or a related discipline.Programming-related courses or certifications. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.ITIL Foundations, Organization Change Management (OCM) - ADKAR, Lean Six Sigma, Management of Portfolios (MoP) and/or PRINCE 2 certifications ideal, but not required.Professional ExperienceMinimum 4 to 8 years experience working in or with a Project Management Office following PMI-based standards.This is preferably working on projects in the financial industry, in the areas of information technology (software/hardware implementation), business transformation, and new business line product and service rollout.Minimum 3 to 5 years PMO Analyst and project controls experience with strong understanding of cost management.Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office 365 apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams.Advanced skill in the use of project management software, tools and techniques .Experienced with Business Intelligence tools and a demonstrated ability to develop reports for a variety of audiences, using PowerBI.Personal CompetenciesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience with SharePoint Online administration and site development is preferred.Ability to create Executive-level presentations.Preserves effectiveness, drive and focus for extended periods of time, while maintaining composure in stressful or adverse situations.Excellent administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Excellent analytical skills and problem solving capabilities.Very detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.High degree of organization and ability to multi-task and shift priorities.Ability and flexibility to prioritize tasks.Ability to work well in a busy team environmentOutgoing and positive attitude is a must.All applicants are welcome, and we expressly encourage applicants to apply who identify as women, persons with visible and invisible disabilities (including physical, mental, sensory, learning impairment, etc.), Indigenous Peoples (including First Nations, Metis and Inuit), LGBTQ2S+ and/or racialized persons.
