THE ROLE

The Event Coordinator manages all museum event programming and oversees all facility rentals for The Military Museums. You will be tasked with balancing event engagement with profitability, while ensuring smooth execution of all programs and bookings.

In this role, you will lead the proactive and advanced planning, organizing, and delivery of a diverse range of events at The Military Museums, such as Family Day, Father's Day, Remembrance Day, and other special activities throughout the year. You will develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors and sponsors, manage event logistics, manage the museum bar operations, and ensure all deliverables are met. You will also process billing and collect payments from customers.


With support from the Communications and Marketing team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives across digital, social, and print platforms, helping to strengthen audience engagement and broaden community reach.

We are seeking a creative, organized, and self-motivated individual to join our team and help us deliver meaningful, memorable experiences for all visitors to The Military Museums.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in hospitality, food service management, or a related field AND several years experience in hospitality or food and beverage service sector

AND

Certification relating to special events, meetings or conference management, an asset

Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, as required

Experience

In coordinating hospitality services

In organizing and coordinating events and functions

In inventory and bar management

In preparing marketing strategies

In coaching and mentoring team members

In budget administration

In applying policies, procedures, and relevant legislation

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

This temporary employment is expected to end on 31 March 2027.

Please note the salary is pro-rated based on a 27 hour work week, with an annual salary of $42,210.00
