Senior Network Analyst

The Network Analyst has overall responsibility for network operations work including integration of new network technologies such as wireless, wired and all Telecom products. On a functional basis, this includes the resolution of medium to complex network deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of network components to provide a secure, high performance and robust network.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with areas within the network function (i.e. network design, engineering, implementation, diagnostics or operations/user support).

  • Assists in the design of the overall network architecture. For assigned sites, designs the network infrastructure, and plans/designs LAN/WAN/wireless solutions and wireline that are consistent with enterprise standards and solutions. .

  • Monitors, operates, installs and maintains network systems and equipment in addition to troubleshooting any type of hardware or software problems to ensure that systems perform in a manner which best meets business needs and objectives.

  • Monitors network performance, participates in network capacity planning and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of network components to provide a secure, high performance network. Assists in the implementation and maintenance of network management software; researching, analyzing and implementing software patches or hardware changes to fix any network deficiencies.

  • Performs medium to complex tasks relating to network operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations.

  • Ensures customer satisfaction through quality standards and measures by evaluating the performance of telecommunications networks and related interfaces.

  • Participates in strategic telecommunications and network planning. When requested, works with business in gathering key business requirements.

  • Operational attainment of internal service level agreements. Assists in the review of external service level agreements.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of IT work experience in network (LAN/WAN/Wireless) and telecommunications environments. Experience includes network operations and support as well as technical service for network hardware/software engineering, support and maintenance in LAN/WAN and multi-platform environments.

  • Proven experience in delivering complex projects, in a global context, with resources in various locations and cultures.

  • Hands-on experience with :

    • Cisco FTD firewalls, switches Catalyst, routers, Cisco Wireless Lan Controller.

    • BGP et SD-WAN technologies

    • Cisco Catalyst Center

    • Cisco ISE

    • Zscaler technologies (an asset)

    • F5 load balancers (an asset)

    • Fortinet firewalls (an asset)

    • Palo Alto firewalls (an asset)

    • Monitoring tools including Solarwinds Orion, Ekahau, Nautobot.

    • Jira, Confluence (an asset)

  • Advanced working knowledge of Networking Technologies:
    - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent experience

  • Bilingualism (French and English) in order to communicate with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec, or unilingual English on a daily basis.
