CVT Transmission Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a CVT mechanical project engineer in product development.  Reporting to the CVT manager, your main responsibility will be to support the design and calibration of our ORV product line by developing and validating CVT mechanical power transmission systems. In addition, the role will involve developing and measuring performance criteria and reducing the carbon footprint of our recreational vehicles. 

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Participate in the development of the mechanical architecture of vehicle CVT components.

  • Be responsible for the implementation of 4-stroke engine CVT transmission projects.

  • Develop transmission system settings with the aim of optimizing emissions, fuel economy, performance, and driving quality, while taking into account project constraints (cost, integration, etc.).

  • Coordinate and participate in optimization tests on roller dynamometers, engine dynamometers, and tracks.

  • Work on diagnosing system failure modes and vehicle responses.

  • Determine calibration methodologies with the goal of reducing development time and increasing engine robustness.

  • Collaborate in the development of powertrain control software.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree or engineering diploma in mechanical, robotic or industrial engineering;

  • Relevant experience in developing internal combustion engines or transmission systems or other mechanical systems;

  • Knowledge of engine control strategies (combustion, emission reduction, performance, reliability, comfort, etc.) would be an asset;

  • Keeping abreast of new technologies in the field of engines and vehicles;

  • Passionate about motorsports, mechanics, and the operation of our products;

  • Dynamic and motivated by new challenges.
