Your mission should you accept it:
The role of Team Lead Health and Safety Coordinator implements the activities planned by the health and safety department for the project. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, his or her objective is to support field staff on the site and to monitor provincial laws and regulations as well as the company's prevention program. It has the power to stop any activity deemed dangerous to the health and safety of persons on the project.

Have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a health and safety coordinator;- Hold a Health and Safety Coordinator (HSCO) diploma;
- Excellent knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal health and safety laws and regulations;
- Have a good command of computers (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
- High geographical mobility;
- Hold a valid driver's license;
- Ability to work in a team and communicate both verbally and in writing;
- Autonomy and leadership;
- Excellent team management skills and conflict resolution methods;
- High administrative rigour;
- Be able to adapt to a highly stressful environment and weather fluctuations (construction site).
What you will do to complete this mission successfully:
1. Preparation and Planning
- Participate in the subcontractor prequalification process and ensure that evaluations are forwarded to the H&S team and that monitoring rules are respected;
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) with the supervision team;
- Assess risks present on site and make recommendations to supervision; in the event of a serious non-compliance, stop the work and immediately notify supervision.
2. Worker Onboarding
- Ensure that all new workers receive the mandatory site orientation training before the start of their activities.
3. Monitoring and Daily Operations
- Complete the daily safety officer report;
- Ensure follow-up of the site’s H&S documentation;
• Ensure follow-up and updates of the site’s H&S statistics; - Ensure that emergency drills and practices are carried out in accordance with the schedule established by the site H&S program;
- Coordinate maneuvers and interventions during an emergency situation;
- Manage the site H&S team (schedules, coaching of H&S coordinators).
4. Incident Management and Investigations
- Participate in or produce complete incident investigations, including prompt notification (PIN), identification of root causes, and issuance of measurable corrective actions, in collaboration with the site management teamand/or the H&S team;
- Ensure high-quality incident reports produced by the team;
- Ensure follow-up of CNESST case files.
5. Internal and External Relations
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with construction teams.
- Maintain an ongoing, positive, and professional relationship with clients.
