Find the right energy here and come generate something big with us! Reporting to the Electrical Director, the Assistant Director - Electrical Estimation plays a strategic role in the preparation, coordination, and review of electrical estimates for wind and solar projects across Canada.
The candidate will contribute to structuring estimation practices and supporting the team of electrical estimators.
This role is based in our Lévis, Quebec office, in hybrid work model. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Coordinate electrical estimates for various projects;
• Contribute to the development of bid strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability;
• Analyze plans, specifications, addenda, and contractual documents to identify risks and opportunities;
• Oversee the entire estimation process, including:
o Tendering to suppliers and subcontractors
o Analysis of received bids
o Evaluation of risks and opportunities
• Validate design assumptions, quantities, and proposed technical solutions;
• Review and ensure the quality, consistency, and structure of estimates (direct costs, general conditions, etc.);
• Coordinate preliminary engineering with external consultants and guide decisions based on cost, schedule, and feasibility considerations;
• Act as a technical reference for the electrical estimation team;
• Contribute to planning and prioritizing team assignments;
• Support continuous improvement of estimation processes, tools, and methodologies;
• Ensure standardization and optimization of estimation practices.

This role could be for you if you have

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma (DEC) in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in electrical estimation within the construction of medium- and high-voltage substations;
• Proficiency in French, both spoken and written;
• Advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written) to interact daily with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, partners, and colleagues outside Quebec, including participation in coordination and project management meetings, providing progress updates, and preparing reports for English-speaking stakeholders;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work within short deadlines;
