The team is looking to fill a current role under Operational and Non-Financial Risk to support organizational change management for risk requirements. The Operational Risk Change Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the organizational change management for changes from non-financial risk programs and initiatives.
This is a small team of 4-5 people. There is a high degree of collaboration with the supported business teams and some collaboration within the team, but the work is primarily independent.
Hybrid requirement: 3x per week (subject to change).
Drives change management plans and activities from initiation to implementation & sustainment to achieve desired business results. Engages leaders, stakeholders and other impacted audiences in the change to create an engaged workforce who understands the change & what it means for customers and employees. Understands a variety of business dimensions that must be considered in the implementation of change (products, people, processes, channels), and associated risks that must be interpreted, evaluated and mitigated. Drives overall business results by ensuring that change is understood, accepted and sustained.
- Lead and own all end‑to‑end change management activities for assigned initiatives, from initiation through close‑out, including the delivery of all required change and project artifact
- Identify and assess change risks associated with strategic, regulatory, process, and technology changes
- Ensure change initiatives comply with the bank’s NFRM (non-financial risk management) framework, policies, and governance standards
- Embed effective risk and control considerations into change design and delivery
- Partner with business, technology, compliance, resilience, and risk teams to provide challenge and guidance across multiple initiatives in parallel
- Support risk governance, approvals, and reporting for material change initiatives
- Ensure projects meet the required deadlines while balancing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations
- Demonstrate agility in understanding and navigating complex risk topics and evolving requirements to inform decision‑making and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of project management experience
- 4+ years of change management experience
- Experience with risk management
- Postsecondary degree
- MS Office experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong problem solving/analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable messaging
- High degree of attention to detail
- Collaboration/team skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prosci Change Management Certification
- Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification
- Previous financial industry experience
- Executive level communication/presentation experience

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
