The Senior Manager, Lending Business Technology acts as the primary business interface for technology, systems, and process initiatives that support BMO Commercial Banking credit platforms.Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy & Core Solutions, Lending Business Technology this role is accountable for E2E Product ownership inclusive of cross‑LOB coordination, planning, requirements management, project execution, and change delivery for strategic initiatives led by the Strategic Business Enablement team within BMO's Commercial Bank with a primary focus on the Corporate / Commercial Lending Systems (CCLS) and associated niche applications.The role partners closely with various groups on the Strategic Business Enablement team, US Banking, Wholesale Lending Lines of Business, Risk, Whole Credit Methodology, Technology & Operations (T&O), and Commercial Management to ensure technology solutions are aligned with business strategy, credit policy, banker workflows, and client outcomes. The position also serves as a subject matter expert for Commercial Banking lending systems, policies, and processes.Key AccountabilitiesBusiness Strategy & Execution
  • Own an assigned Lending Business Product E2E and support the Senior Director of Strategy & Core Solutions, Lending Business Technology in the planning, prioritization, and execution of Commercial Banking technology initiatives.
  • Represent Commercial banker and client interests, ensuring design decisions promote efficiency, usability, risk management, and scalability.
  • Contribute to strategic roadmap development for Commercial Banking credit platforms.
  • Prepare high‑quality materials, analyses, and presentations for executive committees, governance forums, and senior leadership meetings.
Business Analysis & Requirements Leadership
  • Engage Commercial Bankers across regions, segments, and jurisdictions to identify business needs, pain points, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Lead the development of clear, complete, and accurate business and functional requirements for enhancements to the Corporate / Commercial Lending Systems (CCLS) and related applications.
  • Partner with Technology & Operations (T&O) to translate business requirements into actionable specifications throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Review, validate, and formally approve detailed requirements documentation.
Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage and contribute to multiple concurrent, large‑scale initiatives requiring coordination across various stakeholder groups
  • Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration, issue resolution, and decision‑making.
  • Track delivery milestones, risks, dependencies, and outcomes; escalate risks as required.
User Acceptance Testing & Delivery Assurance
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including:
    • Test strategy and test case development
    • Identification and coordination of business testers
    • Execution and oversight of testing cycles
    • Defect triage and resolution in partnership with T&O
  • Ensure solutions meet business, operational, and risk requirements prior to implementation.
Change Management, Training & Adoption
  • Support rollout planning, including training, communications, and change management activities.
  • Develop or contribute to training materials, job aids, procedural documentation, and user communications.
  • Deliver training sessions and serve as a key business contact during implementation and stabilization.
Operational Support & Subject Matter Expertise
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Commercial Banking lending systems, credit policies, and processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to bankers on system functionality and process adherence.
  • Collaborate with other banking groups utilizing shared credit platforms to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Escalate material issues to the Head, Business Technology, Transformation and Product as required.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Commercial Banking
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit policies, risk frameworks, and lending processes
  • Hands‑on experience with Commercial Banking lending systems, including:
    • LTS, APMS, RRT, Livelink, C&T, LLT, LIQ, or equivalent platforms
  • Demonstrated success in business analysis, technology delivery, and cross‑functional project execution
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation capabilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a complex environment

Salary:

$94,600.00 - $176,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
