Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Manager of Strategy to join the Canadian Commercial Banking Strategy team. You will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the business, leading strategy development in partnership with senior leaders, and executing large scale initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Advisory
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, delivering strategic insights and recommendations on business decisions
    • Develop compelling business cases by identifying organizational needs, evaluating options, and assessing return on investment
    • Establish strategic priorities, allocate resources effectively, and design execution roadmaps to achieve business objectives
  • Analytics & Insights
    • Perform independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
    • Conduct comprehensive market analysis and competitive research to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation
    • Monitor performance, anticipate challenges, and address issues proactively
  • Expertise & Innovation
    • Apply creativity to solve complex, ambiguous problems and adapt to shifting trends
    • Lead cross functional teams to execute strategic initiatives ensuring alignment with business and financial goals
    • Network externally to gather competitive insights and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Experience & Domain Knowledge
    • 2+ years of management consulting experience desired, preferably with experience in banking or financial services
    • 5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong understanding of banking products, client segmentation, and business strategy
  • Communication & Influence
    • Ability to distill complex data into simple, compelling insights
    • Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
  • Mindset
    • Curious, proactive, and impact-driven
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement

Salary:

$75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
