Director, ML/AI, Analytics, Platforms & Solutions

This is a hybrid role base out of Toronto that reports directly to that Managing Director of CRM and Data Analytics. This opportunity is open only to Canadian citizens and authorized residents living in the Toronto area.

This person will oversee the development and advancement of machine learning, artificial intelligence and analytics capabilities and solutions. Leverages our data assets, leads the setup of framework and adoption of emerging technologies both on cloud and on-prem. Understand the data quality requirements and identify the improvement to support AI/ML/Analytics.

This person will also oversee the development of best practices and tooling to develop and operate the solutions securely, efficiently and cost effectively.

Responsibilities

• Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ideally 5 years of working experience within Financial Services

• Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation. Be technically proficient in the ML, AI space.

• Experience within a leadership role where you have proven success with building and maintaining teams

• Experience defining and leading large-scale projects

• Programming languages: R, Python, Scala, Sagemaker, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and others

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing machine learning models

• High level experience in AI/ML fundamentals

• Up-to-date knowledge of AI/ML technologies and their trends, including various libraries and tools

• Built feature stores and auto ML capabilities

• Certification with relevant to AWS / Azure

• Experience building architecture on AWS and Azure and on-prem

• Provide subject matter expertise in banking industry trends, regulations, and best practices to guide leadership in making informed decisions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology experts, and business development, to deliver comprehensive solutions.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, market trends, and regulatory changes affecting the banking industry to provide proactive solutions

• Experience with modern databases, cloud environments, and data ecosystems

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
