Truck and Transport Apprentice

Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Fixed Operations Manager.

Job Summary: Birchwood Ford on Regent is looking for a Truck and Transport Apprentice to join the team!

The Truck and Transport Apprentice plays an integral role in Birchwood achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction. This role involves servicing, repairing, assembling, and maintaining commercial transport trucks, emergency vehicles, buses, and other equipment designated under The Highway Traffic Act, with a gross weight of 4,500 kilograms or more. The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain current product and technical knowledge, to estimate time of service and repair needed, and to diagnose and complete the required work right the first time. Using industry-leading technology, the Truck and Transport Apprentice will diagnose repairs required on a wide range of trucks and vehicles.

Qualifications:

• Apprentice pursuing a Truck and Transport Red Seal Certification (any level considered)

• Existing Truck and Transport Red Seal Certification is preferred

• Ability to diagnose and problem-solve independently

• Comfortable leveraging technology for most day-to-day repairs

• Manitoba Safety Certified is required

• High attention to detail with proven time management and organizational skills

• A commitment to continuous learning and professional development

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
