AF is responsible for the production, marketing, processing and merchandising of agriculture, food and seafood products. The Sector Insights & Corporate Priorities Unit is responsible for corporate priority initiatives related to program evaluation, digital strategy, and data management. The unit also provides economic expertise and statistical analysis to inform ministry policy and program development. The business analyst will work to deliver cost effective information technology solutions to Ministry of Agriculture and Food program areas. Current project focus is onboarding programs and launching new intakes in the Program Operation Data System (PODS). PODS is an Agile project launched in 2023 to enable ministry program areas to deliver grant funding through the application, administration, monitoring, and reporting stages. Other future digital initiatives could include a data warehouse project. The business analyst facilitates the design, development and implementation process for technology solutions and leads project teams in the implementation, quality assurance and testing of systems. providing support to ministry staff to use the PODS data system, including creating manuals, providing training, help-desk support, and helping new programs to be onboarded with the system. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in a computer science related field and 1 year of related experience; OR Diploma in a computer science related field and 2 years related experience; OR Certificate or coursework in a computer science related field and 3 years related experience; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Related experience includes all of the following: Experience with the installation, configuration, maintenance and problem resolution of software, operating systems, and network components. Experience with change management processes and project management methodologies. Experience with application design and development life cycle.
