Benefits

Backyard Brands is a customer-focused company dedicated to delivering high-quality water care products and exceptional service. We take pride in creating reliable, innovative solutions that enhance enjoyment of pools and hot tubs.

Candidates should choose Backyard Brands because we offer a supportive team environment, opportunities for growth, and a strong commitment to excellence. We value hard work, collaboration, and people who are motivated to make a real impact while building a rewarding career.

Quebec Region / Remote Work (Quebec) | Full-time
Backyard Brands is a Canadian manufacturer of premium pool and spa water care products, including the Dazzle, Mineraluxe, HydroFusion, and Pristiva brands. We serve exclusively independent backyard leisure retailers in Canada—never chain stores.

We are looking for an energetic, results-oriented junior bilingual sales development representative for Quebec, primarily in the Montreal, Gatineau, and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions.

This role is designed for a natural persuader—someone who knows how to energize a room, quickly build trust, and turn relationships into tangible results. You’ll serve as a trusted business partner to our network of independent retailers, helping them grow organically, build customer loyalty, and stand out from chain stores and low-cost online retailers.

You won’t just be managing accounts. You’ll be helping retailers build better businesses—through coaching, consultative selling, and, increasingly, data-driven tools and programs designed to deliver measurable results.

Language Requirements – Bilingual Position
This position requires fluency in both French and English, both spoken and written. The role involves daily communication and collaboration with colleagues, suppliers, and partners located in other provinces and internationally, where English is the primary working language.

Since bilingual communication is essential to the duties of this position, applicants are asked to submit their résumés in both French and English. Interviews will also be conducted in both languages.

What does success look like in this role?
  • This position is performance-driven. You will be evaluated based on clear, quantifiable results:
  • Territory revenue growth — significant annual increase in sales volume, with growth targets set annually
  • Account retention rate — maintaining and strengthening relationships with current retailers, aiming for a retention rate of 95%+
  • New account acquisition — opening 5 to 10 new retail accounts in the first year through a consultative approach
  • Organic retailer growth — actively supporting retailers to increase Backyard Brands product sales through coaching and in-store support Representing Backyard Brands at industry events to boost brand awareness and build new connections
  • Monitor market trends, the competition, and retailer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Travel within your territory (approximately 50%) to be present where it matters

Who you are
  • You don’t just open doors—you build the kind of relationships that stay open for years. You’re enthusiastic and optimistic, and people naturally want to do business with you. But you also have the consistency and follow-through of a trusted partner: your accounts count on you because you’ve earned their trust.
  • You’re motivated by hitting your targets and take just as much pride in helping a retailer double its sales as you do in opening a new account.
  • You believe that independent retailers matter. You’d rather build something meaningful with local business owners than chase volume at chain stores.

Requested skills

  • 2+ years of experience in account management, business development, or B2B sales—ideally in consumer goods, retail, or distribution
  • A proven track record of driving revenue growth through relationship-building, not high-pressure tactics
  • A natural ability to coach, motivate, and engage sales teams during in-store visits and training sessions
  • Comfortable with data-driven selling—you don’t need to be technical, but you’re eager to use tools and analytics that give you and your retailers an edge
  • Excellent autonomy in managing your territory—you run it like a true business
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
