Supply Custodian List
The Bluewater District School Board is recruiting Supply Custodians to replace staff for daily supply or temporary assignments, or to support periods of increased workload. The minimum hours and locations are not guaranteed, and shifts may be up to 8 hours a day. Available shifts are dispatched using an automated call-out system. If you are successful to the custodial supply list, you can choose which locations you are willing to travel too.
This a non-permanent position with potential for career growth and advancement.
Candidates will be selected on an ongoing basis at least every four months.
Rate of pay: $18.17 - $24.77/hour (Sept. 1/23)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow proper cleaning schedules to maintain expected standards of cleanliness of the buildings and grounds in all aspects
Perform related duties as required for maintaining daily operations of the site
Follow Board practices and procedures (e.g., attendance, privacy, and confidentiality)
Follow health and safety guidelines and safe work practices
Co-operate with colleagues, staff, and students to create positive working relationships
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Secondary school diploma or equivalent
Access to technology and the Internet
Must be capable of performing a variety of repetitive, physical work (i.e., lifting, bending, pushing, pulling etc.)
Assets:
Previous experience in commercial/industrial cleaning
Comfort with basic facility/grounds maintenance
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
Basic computer skills (i.e., communicating via e-mail, accessing information and training)
Effective communication skills
Reliable transportation to and from worksites
