How this opportunity is different

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting operations within our Commercial Risk team. Business Analysts link business collaborators with tech teams, detail business requirements for interested parties. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong operations background – someone who understands process workflows, stakeholder management across business functions and UAT.

What the day will look like
  • Develop BRD for different programs (renewals, new accounts, mid-term changes), updating rating, flow, data fields, insurers for internal and client sites.
  • Manage questions and problems for the service team regarding database and program forms, as well as handling these critical issues and resolutions
  • Database testing (all options, workflows and outputs) and test coordination including preparation of test cases, maintenance of test logs, organizing testers for UAT, retesting and test sign off.
  • Converting new wordings, certificates, letters and other documents to Word documents, defining all merge fields and sources and ensuring standardized formatting of forms
  • Preparation and release of monthly email blasts to various programs from Outlook
  • Preparation of monthly transaction reports (bordereaux) and preparation of statistical reports, using Excel.
  • Data analysis and Validation Investigation and resolution of any issues/discrepancies concerning online credit card payments
  • Balancing online payments to database
  • Assisting with minor programming changes to database and client facing websites
  • Ad hoc projects
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • College or university degree in business or management.
  • At least 2–3 years of insurance experience with a solid understanding of insurance operations.
  • Broad knowledge of general insurance coverage.
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate optimally to different audiences – developers, internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Effective presentation abilities and strong communication skills.
  • Well-developed analytical, mathematical, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Dedicated team player.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with Power BI and SQL is an added advantage.
  • Possession of a RIBO license or other insurance accreditation is considered an asset.
