About the role

At Groupe Alesco, we are committed to providing all the essential conditions for our employees to thrive. This naturally brings with it a growing need to hire new bilingual employees.

In the role of Senior Business Analyst, the candidate will act as an expert in organizational analysis upstream of strategic and structuring projects, clarifying business needs, documenting processes, and formulating recommendations for transformation or optimization.

The Senior Business Analyst will also play a key role in the strategic qualification of initiatives, informing decision-making through rigorous analysis, process mapping, and structured business cases.

He or she will act as a point of convergence between departments, business units, and support functions, and will work closely with the project office and the Operational Excellence and Automation Manager to ensure a smooth transition to planning and delivery.

Responsibilities

Without limitation, the Senior Business Analyst must:

  • Diagnose current processes, identify major inefficiencies, irritants or organizational risks, and propose high-impact areas for improvement.
  • Develop transformation recommendations aligned with the organization's strategic objectives, internal capabilities, and technology directions.
  • Support project qualification: assess their scope, interdependencies, risks, potential value, and conditions for success.
  • Produce structured business cases, including anticipated benefits, solution options, cost/effort estimates, and decision-making levers.
  • Map current and future processes (as-is/to-be) with stakeholders and provide tools for decision-making on targets to be achieved.
  • Work in synergy with the Product Owner to ensure traceability of requirements to functional requirements and facilitate prioritization in the backlog.
  • Participate in defining project performance indicators and, where relevant, contribute to monitoring the value delivered post-implementation.
  • Contribute to the professionalization of the business analysis function within the organization: tools, frameworks, templates, practices.
  • Actively participate in strategic analysis forums (selection committees, co-creation workshops, governance units) to inform structural decisions.
  • Work closely with the Operational Excellence and Automation Manager to ensure alignment between strategic analyses and the implementation of targeted initiatives.
  • Assess the relevance of using an external resource (e.g., AG) to improve organizational design, processes, and practices.
  • Be in the office at least two days per week.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor or related to the position.
Qualities required to thrive in this role:
  • Analytical judgment: Ability to structure issues and make informed diagnoses.
  • Intellectual leadership: Advances complex thinking without formal direction.
  • Strategic communication: Simplifies complex issues and proposes clear and convincing deliverables.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Works effectively with all stakeholders in an influential manner.
  • Political savvy and advisory skills: Knows how to challenge positively, without rigidity or confrontation.
  • Rigorous and results-oriented: Proposes concrete, achievable solutions that are aligned with priorities.

  • Additional training in Lean Six Sigma, BPMN modeling, or project management (an asset).
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in business analysis, including:
    • At least 5 years in strategic or transformational project contexts.
    • Proven experience in developing business cases, mapping complex processes, and contributing to governance committees or prioritization forums.
    • Work experience in multidisciplinary, matrix or digital transformation environments (an asset).
  • Proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN).
  • Ability to structure cost-benefit, feasibility, and organizational impact analyses.
  • Experience with collaborative productivity tools (Miro, Confluence, Notion, etc.).
  • Understanding of project management tools (Jira, Asana, MS Project, etc.).
  • Familiarity with agile and DevOps environments.
  • Bilingualism, both spoken and written (communication in French is very important as our team is predominantly French-speaking, but communication in English is essential as we now serve a growing English-speaking clientele).
What we offer
  • Be part of a growing organization that is also a leader in its market segment.
  • Have a tangible impact on the growth and success of the company.
  • Work in a dynamic and innovative environment offering excellent opportunities for ongoing training, professional development, and career advancement.
