The Regional Director, Asset Performance - North America, holds a strategic role with a direct and lasting impact on the evolution of our practices and operational culture. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the global asset management framework and ensuring its application across all sites in the region. This includes reliability, equipment strategies, work management, inventory management, systems, and continuous improvement.

You will deliver both strategic and tactical leadership, guiding local teams in adopting optimized practices and enhancing operational performance. You will maintain regular engagement with site leaders and play a key role in accelerating value‑added initiatives.

Reporting to the Regional Hub Director - North America, you will be the primary point of contact for all matters related to asset performance and maintenance. You will play a key role in supporting daily operations and steering the implementation of sustainable solutions that create real value for the organization.

More specifically:

  • Manage the implementation of all aspects of the REX (Reliability Excellence) program and Global AM CoE standard processes in North America. This includes all elements of operations and maintenance strategies, work management, materials management, reliability management, and site‑specific focus areas related to asset optimization.

  • Be responsible for deploying quality and continuous improvement across all functional maintenance processes, as well as the business results these processes are designed to deliver.

  • Ensure the presence of effective and efficient training programs, including development, delivery, and continuous improvement of all associated training for key reliability and maintenance roles within the organization.

  • Serve as a steward and seek to optimize safety, performance, productivity, and total cost outcomes of the regional Reliability Excellence program by leading the identification, development, and implementation of new technologies, systems, and process improvement opportunities, and standardizing these improvements through the rapid implementation of best practices.

  • Oversee the development and deployment of high‑quality asset and equipment strategies and improvement processes to ensure that REX fundamentals are effectively embedded, strategies deliver expected business outcomes, and are continuously improved.

  • Serve as the regional functional expert in REX and maintenance, providing input on organizational systems, projects, and restructurings as required. Provide ongoing support through maintenance effectiveness, cost analysis, failure analysis, and quality standards criteria.

  • Work with the Regional Hub Director to implement and support asset management fundamentals and improvement program initiatives.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical). A graduate degree (Master’s/PhD) in engineering, management, or a related field is highly desirable.

  • At least 15 years of experience leading asset management practices and leadership roles in operations/line management.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance or operations leadership role within heavy industry (experience in foundry/smelting is highly desirable).

  • Demonstrated expertise in operations, engineering, and maintenance across electrical and mechanical disciplines.

  • Demonstrated expertise in asset management, including asset reliability, materials management, maintenance management, maintenance software (CMMS), organizational structures, and related domains.

  • Experience developing maintenance strategies/frameworks and roadmaps at both organizational and site levels.

  • Willingness to travel within the region to all sites. Additional travel outside the region may be required for global conferences and asset management activities.

  • Bilingual: Fluency in English and French, as you will interact with stakeholders across North America.

  • Flexibility for travel in Canada and the United States, ranging from 25% to 50%.
