Forensic Assessment & Community Services (FACS) has an exciting opportunity for a master's-level Registered Social Worker. Reporting to the Care Manager of FACS, this position will act as a member of the Sexual Behaviours Program (SBP) multidisciplinary team. This role will provide treatment services that are evidence and recovery based, aligned with best practice approaches, policy, legislation, and designated standards of practice within the context of an outpatient, forensic community mental health clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking psychosocial interventions in both group and individual formats. Competency in couples’ therapy will be considered an asset. Position responsibilities also include structured intake assessments applying formal risk assessment measures. Social Worker III will be expected to have knowledge of forensic rehabilitation and treatment principles. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in order to provide input and participation in program development, research activities, and quality improvement endeavors. This position works closely and collaboratively with community stakeholders, offering consultative and educational services as needed, along with coordination and case management planning and follow-up. This will include but is not limited to clients' with developmental delays, acute mental health issues, and complex social needs. As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Must be eligible to obtain authorization to perform restricted psychosocial interventions. BLS required. NVCI or immediate registration into the next available course is required.

Familiarity with electronic medical records (Connect Care), virtual therapy platforms (Zoom), and comfort with Microsoft Office programs will all be considered assets. Understanding of intimate partner violence, family systems, inappropriate sexual behaviours, and legal dispositions will all be considered an asset. Experience providing couples or marital counselling in high-conflict relationship situations will also be an asset.
