This is an excellent opportunity to join the Stollery Children's Hospital and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams in the Pediatric Outpatient Clinics located at both the Royal Alexandra Hospital and UAH Stollery sites. The Stollery Pediatric Outpatient Clinics is a fast-paced learning environment with an exceptional team of professionals that support our children and families as they are cared for in the outpatient setting. The successful candidate will serve as an advocate and champion for our patients and their families and will be compassionate and caring with a focus on patient and family-centered care. Skills in communication and resource management will be proven, and ability to prioritize and function within a team setting is crucial. Proven track record for maintaining professional boundaries and practicing within the established policy and procedures of AHS. Will magnify the values and mission statement of AHS and have proven engagement strategies to meet the needs of our children. When required, the successful candidate will provide support to other areas of service within the Stollery Pediatric Social Work Program.

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Indigenous training and cultural awareness completed. Current pediatric experience in acute care pediatric tertiary hospital setting. Grief and loss therapy and experience. Must be highly skilled in adjustment disorder counselling and crisis management interventions. Ability to work within community systems and to identify resources for best long-term impact and outcomes. Must be highly organized with the ability to prioritize. Strong advocacy skills are essential.

Experience in Pediatric, ambulatory. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills and asset. Second language also an asset.
