Description

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Highly skilled with risk assessment and case management, including assessment and monitoring of chronic suicidal and non-suicidal self-injury, development of safety plans, and coordination/liaison with urgent/crisis services. Previous experience in urgent/crisis services and inpatient psychiatric settings is an asset. Exceptional therapy relationship skills, including advanced abilities to establish rapport, therapeutic alliance, trust and collaboratively work through relationship impasses. Highly empathic and validating, while also having the capacity to be firm and set appropriate limits/boundaries in the therapeutic relationship. The successful candidate will be highly self-aware of own reactions and biases; and be open to seeking consultation/supervision from team members and Clinical Supervisor. The SWII will be able to demonstrate excellent self-care. Must have experience and skill with assessing and treating multiple comorbidities of emotion dysregulation, including depression, anxiety, and addiction, as well as experience addressing significant social issues, including housing, finances, work, and social role functioning. The successful candidate must have strong case formulation skills and experience with developing treatment plans for complex addiction and mental health cases. Experienced with motivational enhancement, including goal-setting and motivational interviewing. Candidate must possess NVCI, BLS.
The suitable candidate will have considerable experience and proficiency with case management and system navigation. Experience with advocacy and providing education to staff and community groups is an asset. Minimum of 3 years mental health experience in comprehensive mental health assessment and the provision of case management. Special authorization to practice psycho-social interventions.
