Description
We're looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse who can demonstrate a past practice of excellence in nursing care delivery, interpersonal and human relation skills. The preferred successful candidate will: Have current CLPNA registration. Two years of recent satisfactory experience. Current pediatric experience and/or evidence of ongoing professional development related to pediatrics. A philosophy of Family Centered care. A willingness to support and work well within a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate positive outcome for child and family. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Applicable advanced certification within the desired/specific specialty area. Be a mature, motivated, self-directed person with demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills as evidenced by performance appraisals, reference checks and interview participation. Be able to work positively, effectively, and cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team in the provision of family focused care. Have up-to-date computer training. BCLS-HCP certificate required. IV initiation competence is desirable. Must be physically able to handle job requirements.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Ability and availability to pick up a combination of days, evenings, nights, weekends and short-call shifts.
Recent Pediatric experience preferred.
