The Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) - office provides leadership, coordination and facilitation of clinical informatics initiatives for Alberta Health Services. Clinical informatics seeks to transform health care by analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating information and communication systems for better individual and population health outcomes. The Office supports staff, systems, and contracted clinicians providing clinical guidance to initiatives where information technology impacts patients, clinicians and communities. As a Project Coordinator II for CMIO, you will lead the planning and execution of projects and/or program initiatives within CMIO. You will support the delivery and implementation of projects through the project life cycle, including project initiation, planning and design, execution, close-out, monitoring and control. A key area of attention for this particular Project Coordinator role is the clinical system design process for Connect Care (CC), including the establishment and operationalization of the CC Area Councils, Specialty Working Groups and their Support Units. The role requires a high degree of independent work while working in collaboration with CMIO and CC team members to: Track, monitor and report on CC Area Council and Support Unit decision making related to Core and Specialty Clinical System Design. Coordinate CC resources related to Area Council Coordinating Unit activities, Support the program in the documentation and identification of project risks and issues. Monitor, maintain, and analyze budget and cost controls for the project/initiative. Draft project/program requests for proposals, plans, and other documents e.g. business cases, proposals, project charters (statements), business process procedures, and training materials.

As a Coordinator II, you will require advanced or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex projects, procedures, practices or initiatives within a department, program or business unit.

Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent.

General knowledge of Alberta Health Services, health informatics and clinical system design. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Working knowledge of project management principles, tools, and methodologies. Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities while ensuring milestones are met. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Working Knowledge of SharePoint. Basic knowledge of MS Project and MS Visio. Strong written and oral skills. There is flexibility as to the location of this position within the Province of Alberta.

Experience working with large provincial clinical programs within AHS. Healthcare knowledge and experience. Experience managing clinical and operational subject matter experts. Experience and understanding around clinical knowledge and content management, clinical improvement and inquiry. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is an asset.
