Description
Reporting to the Protective Services (PS) Compassionate Intervention (CI) Director, the Administrative Support V will support the PS CI Leadership and operational team. Working with minimal guidance and direction, the Administrative Support V supports effective and efficient operations of the administrative office. The position is responsible for calendar management, preparing materials, meeting preparations and support, financial activities such as invoicing, expense claims and payroll duties, and file management. Additionally, the Administrative Support V uses discretion to address escalated issues or problems where there may not be established processes or guidelines. The incumbent must exercise judgment, discretion and independent decision making across a spectrum of activities that may include budgeting and accounting, contract management, internal and external relationships, and administrative duties. The successful candidate will be committed to transforming PS practices by embedding culturally competent and trauma-informed care into every aspect of our approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
A minimum of completion of a two-year Diploma in Administration is required, Healthcare stream preferred. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in an administrative position is required. Equivalent education and experience considered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Strong customer service abilities-both in person and through phone or email-combined with problem-solving, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to work independently under tight timelines while collaborating effectively within a team. Demonstrated attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are critical.
