The South Health Campus (SHC) Medical Ambulatory and GI/Hepatology Outpatient Clinics are seeking a casual Administrative Support IV to join the team. This position reports to the Unit Manager of Medical Ambulatory and GI/Hepatology Clinics. The Administrative Support IV will support a range of specialty clinics, including GI & Hepatology (with booking responsibilities in the Endoscopy Suite), Hematology, and Rheumatology. As an essential member of a multidisciplinary team, the Administrative Support IV contributes to the smooth operation of clinic services. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal abilities and clear, effective communication skills, particularly in high-pressure environments. A commitment to collaborative, respectful teamwork is vital in supporting patient- and family-centered care. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, organizational strength, and excellent time-management skills. Candidates must be highly adaptable, able to multitask, and comfortable handling frequent interruptions while maintaining efficiency. Knowledge of diverse clinical workflows, strong independent problem-solving skills, and sound critical-thinking abilities are essential. A solid understanding of patient- and family-centered care-along with sensitivity to the unique health needs. The Administrative Support IV must always uphold Alberta Health Services’ Privacy and Confidentiality Standards, including adherence to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and the Health Information Act (HIA). As an essential member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Administrative Support IV plays a key role in providing efficient administrative support and contributing to high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Administrative Support IV will be responsible for: Collaborating with Physician Leads, Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Nurses to support referral triage, appointment coordination, and patient flow. Managing work queues within Connect Care. Booking patient appointments and utilizing clinic templates in Connect Care. Assisting with the coordination and maintenance of physician schedules. Processing patient referrals in compliance with Path to Care guidelines. Faxing clinical documentation as required. Communicating with referring sites and working collaboratively with the full multidisciplinary team. Completing and sending diagnostic test referrals. Managing departmental mail (incoming and outgoing). Adapting to evolving clinic workflows and operational demands. Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course. Minimum 3 years of current ambulatory Booking Clerk experience. Proficiency in working with Connect Care, Netcare and MS Office 365. Experience working within a Central Access and Triage (CAT) environment. Experience participating in clinic build activities within Connect Care, including updating the Alberta referral directory. Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods. Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

Experience booking for Endoscopy preferred.
