The goal of the Acute Care Addiction Recovery Program is to provide patient-centered, evidence-based and holistic care to our patients who are socially vulnerable and/or dealing with problematic substance use. By using a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach, the team strives to support at risk patients who want to improve their social determinants of health and/or reduce their substance use. The administrative assistant interacts directly with patients when booking clinical appointments and greeting walk ins to the outpatient clinic. Duties include maintaining the schedule of clinical service coverage; coordinating pending consults; coordinating case management sessions, scheduling patients for follow up appointments, ordering office supplies and materials as needed and other administrative duties. As part of this team, the administrative assistant will also be responsible for providing support to all team members including the Program Manager, Unit Manager, clinical team members and research staff. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Diploma or certificate from a recognized office or secretarial administration program, experience with medical terminology. Minimum 3 years experience in and administrative role. Experience with AHS technology and systems including e-people, and iexpense. Connect Care experience. Demonstrated experience working with individuals who are socially vulnerable and/or have active substance use disorder. Demonstrated ability to work under a harm reduction philosophy of care.
