Performs other Health Information Management related duties as needed. Experience in Patient Registration, Financial Records, and/or Telecommunication. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Successful completion of Medical Terminology course (testing will be performed). 2 years medical reception experience. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with clients, nursing staff, and physicians. Ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Superior customer service skills. Proven accuracy in spelling, keyboarding and attention to detail. Ability to communicate fluently in the English language. Ability to Problem-solve and be organized and efficient in day-to-day functions. Ability to work under pressure in emergent and urgent situations with limited supervision. Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills of 40 - 50 wpm required. Testing will be conducted with interviewed prospects. The position requires sitting for majority of the shifts, stretching, reaching, twisting and grasping are all actions that would possibly be required to perform during any given shift. Lifting up to 50 lbs. at times is required.

Two (2) years related experience in a hospital or medical office setting preferred. Knowledge of HIA (Health Information Act) & FOIP (Freedom of Information and Privacy). Recent customer service experience preferred. Ability to operate a computer and scanning equipment. Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate and follow verbal and written instructions precisely.
