Under the supervision of the Care Manager, the Administrative Support III is responsible for providing reception and clerical support to the Tertiary Neuropsychiatric Clinics and Unit 303 Day Patients at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. As the receptionist for the clinics and Unit 303 Day Patients, the incumbent is the initial point of contact and must have an excellent customer service attitude and compassion for families with mental health concerns. Clerical duties include receiving internal and external phone calls, receiving and sorting mail, maintenance of electronic charts, scheduling patient follow-up appointments, preparing schedules as well as typing correspondence and sending/receiving faxes. The incumbent works cooperatively with other clerks to assist with varying workloads throughout the day and covering, when necessary, because of staff absences. Ability to prioritize health service requests is essential. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Successful completion of Medical Office Assistant Certificate or equivalent training and experience will be considered. A minimum of one-year clerical experience preferably in a medical or outpatient clinic setting within the past three years. Recent role that coordinates clinic visits and scheduling with a variety of healthcare professionals. Strong computer skills including MS Office and applications including but not limited to ePeople, WFM and Connect Care. Excellent planning, organizational, time management and customer services skills are required. Physically able to lift 11 kg and walk frequently to the Tertiary Neuropsychiatric Clinic and Unit 303 Day Patient Unit. Ability to work in a noisy environment is essential as the children and youth who attend these programs may experience significant mental health and/or behavior issues and may demonstrate anger and/or anxiety.

Experience in a mental healthcare setting preferred.
