Under the supervision of the Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. You will monitor fixed assets and depreciation to ensure rigorous management of the organization’s assets. You will actively participate in the preparation of the annual budget as well as in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. You will review billing and help maintain efficient processes that comply with current standards. You will be required to organize data and prepare various analyses in Excel to support decision-making. You will prepare various reconciliations and ensure the reliability of financial information. You will also contribute to the development and improvement of financial management systems, procedures, and existing tools. You will provide support to the team in various accounting cycle tasks and perform any other related duties.

Requested skills

DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE?
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, accounting concentration or any other combination of education and/or experience deemed equivalent.
• Have three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar position.
• Hold a CPA designation or be in the process of obtaining it.
• Have knowledge of and experience with the full accounting cycle.
• Be proficient in the MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP is considered an asset.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Have a functional knowledge of French enabling daily communication with colleagues at other stations and bases.
• Knowledge of the Cree language is considered an asset.
