Responsible for the overall uniform program employee experience. This includes the management and expansion of existing uniform program initiatives including, but not limited to, the alterations program, Uni2, and the Air Canada Closet.
The incumbent will identify paths that will lead the uniform program to one of full circularity and inclusivity by leading research to identify innovative emerging textiles and processes where it pertains to professional clothing with a view of reducing waste and increasing inclusivity. They will be responsible for identifying garment upcycling ideas and research into developing areas of regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the improvement of the Uniforms Team employee experience, which includes:
- Identifying challenges within the customer experience journey and finding solutions that will elevate the uniforms program.
- Responsible for the improvement of the alterations program processes through exploration of alternatives with various stakeholders to find and implement a simplified claims process.
- Lead creation of a dry-cleaning program at the Airports by identifying key markets, negotiating with suppliers, designing processes and implementation.
- Oversight of the uniforms mailbox and Viva Engage, liaising with suppliers and branches to investigate and provide answers and follow-up to employees on a variety of issues/concerns with regards to all aspects of the uniform program.
- Responsible for investigating emerging sustainability initiatives that will help transform the uniforms program to one of full circularity by:
- Exploring and identifying new technologies in textile production, development and recycling that could be implemented in our program.
- Exploring and identifying new manufacturing and production processes that we can pursue with our suppliers.
- Managing and growing the gently used uniform program (Uni2 program) to include Jazz and Rouge.
- Finding ways to either upcycle or dispose of used uniforms and accessories that can no longer be used in a sustainable way.
- Raising awareness of the program’s sustainability initiatives to better engage our workforce.
- Will lead ESG research into emerging trends in professional clothing related to inclusivity such as menopause, neurodiversity and gender.
- Events and other initiatives support coordination/management and/or attendance as required.
Qualifications
- University level education and/or 2-4 years relevant work experience.
- Experience with customer service.
- Highly organized and structured.
- Accepting of physical work when needed.
- Willing to work from the YUL base HQ minimum twice weekly.
- Ability to be assertive and manage conflict.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Discreet.
- Ability to travel if necessary for support of initiatives.
