JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Vice-President, Infrastructure, the incombent acts as a project manager and is responsible, with the team in place, for planning, designing and managing a variety of QPA projects within his discipline and participating in certain other projects associated with other QPA disciplines (electrical, mechanical, building, asset management, etc.). The main responsibilities of this position are as follows :

  • Acts as a project manager on simple to complex projects in the infrastructure portfolio and ensure their management ;
  • Identifies and clarifies project needs, objectives and issues ;
  • Identifies and clarifies project needs, objectives and issues ;
  • Prepares preliminary construction cost estimates for projects ;
  • Prepares the project specifications for each project under his supervision ;
  • Prepare tender documents for consultants and contractors ;
  • Supervises the drawing of engineering elements ;
  • Supervises and coordinates all construction work and project supervision ;
  • Manages the consultants, subcontractors and contractors of its projects ;
  • Performs administrative and technical follow-up of projects ;
  • Caries out studies and/or technical reports ;
  • Develops and implements processes to optimize practices in order to improve quality ;

  • Carries out the internal design of smaller projects ;
  • Participates in the QPA's asset maintenance plan.

Requested skills

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent ;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in similar functions (project management) ;
  • Member of the « Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec » ;
  • Knowledge of standards (NBC, S16 and A23.3, S6, etc.) ;
  • Mastery of the Office suite and MS Project ;
  • Ability to manage several files simultaneously and good priority management ;
  • Ability to work in a team ;
  • Excellent analytical skills ;
  • Good writing skills.

Assets :

  • Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, etc.) ;
  • Experience in marine engineering ;
  • Knowledge of AIDI software;
  • Mastery of the English language.

A combination of education and/or relevant experience may be considered equivalent.
