The Associate Product Manager (APM) - Merchandising supports the delivery of merchandising products and tools that drive sales, improve efficiency, and enhance associate and customer experiences. . They are a product contributor with an intermediate level of understanding of business analysis, product management, and software development cycles, and will work with product management leadership and business stakeholders to help develop a long-term product vision, while working alongside scrum teams from ideation to delivery.

The APM brings a customer- and associate-first mindset, strong analytical skills, organizational and communication skills to aid in the collaboration between business and technology teams and translate the needs of users into digital business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build an understanding of merchandising customers (associates, merchants, and customers) and their needs through research, data, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support competitive and market research to identify best-in-class merchandising and retail technology practices.
  • Assist in defining product goals, success metrics, and measures of value; help collect and analyze data to inform decisions.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning by preparing inputs, documenting dependencies, and aligning with cross-functional partners.
  • Support execution of merchandising product initiatives from ideation through delivery, working alongside scrum teams.
  • Create, refine, and prioritize user stories and epics under the guidance of a Product Manager.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives).
  • Help assess trade-offs, dependencies, risks, and value associated with features and enhancements.
  • Support testing activities, including test case definition and user acceptance testing.
  • Assist with product rollout, process documentation, and training/change management activities.
  • Partner with Technology, UX, Data, and Merchandising teams to ensure solutions meet business and user needs.
  • Communicate product updates, risks, and progress clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for business partners.
  • Continuously build product management skills through feedback, coaching, and learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative product culture by sharing learnings and supporting team success.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Experience facilitating workshops and working sessions to support discovery, alignment, and solution definition

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Reports to Digital Product Manager or Principal Product Manager
  • No Direct Reports

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles

On site Work

  • Mon to Fri (1 Concorde Gate, North York)

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable

Minimum Education:

  • University degree (4) year program or the knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a product management, business analysis, or related role (retail, merchandising, ecommerce, or technology experience preferred)

Certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) is an asset

Other Requirements/Assets:

  • Advanced capability in Microsoft Office 365

The pay range for this position is between $62,200.00 - $70,100.00
