Position Overview/Lead the Future of Women’s & Neonatal Health:

 

 

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is one of Canada’s premier academic health sciences centres, fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and internationally recognized for clinical excellence, research innovation and compassionate care.

The Dan Women & Babies Program is a provincial and national leader in:

  • Comprehensive Women’s Health
  • Specialized & Complex Obstetrical Care
  • Neonatal Outcomes — including care for micro-premature infants

 

 

Each year, we deliver nearly 4,000 births, care for hundreds of high-risk pregnancies, provide thousands of outpatient visits and gynecologic procedures, and support some of the smallest and sickest babies in Ontario.

 

The Director of Operations will report to the Executive Vice President, Chief Nursing and Health Professions Executive, and working in close partnership with the Program Chief, the Director of Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership across a large, complex clinical portfolio.

 

This pivotal dyad leadership role provides strategic and operational leadership across a large, complex clinical portfolio, driving performance, advancing quality, and operationalizing program ambitions.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical and financial operations across inpatient, outpatient and NICU services
  • Develop and execute program strategy aligned with hospital priorities
  • Drive quality improvement, patient safety and Accreditation readiness
  • Build high-performing interprofessional teams
  • Represent the Program regionally and provincially
  • Partner internally and externally to advance integrated models of care
  • Relevant clinical experience preferred

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

You are a senior healthcare leader who thrives in complexity and believes operational excellence enables clinical brilliance.

  • A Master’s degree in Health Administration, Nursing or related field
  • 5–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a complex healthcare setting (Director-level preferred)
  • Experience in academic health sciences environments
  • Strong financial and strategic acumen
  • Demonstrated success leading change, quality improvement and system transformation
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Collaborative, decisive, data-informed, and energized by innovation
