Job description

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Complete administrative tasks including chart preparation, booking appointments, managing phone lines and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Process patient referrals and follow up appointments in a timely manner
  • Proficiently respond to all communications including phone calls and emails
  • Provide face to face patient support in our outpatient clinics
  • Support nursing staff and physicians with triaging of patient appointments based on patients' needs
  • Support clinic flow by coordinating on-site and virtual appointments
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Experience with front-line/patient facing health care clinic administrative work is essential

 

The Requirements:

 

  • Medical office experience is essential
  • Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) required. -  Telus Practice Solutions (PSS) EMR is an asset.
  • Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and an aptitude for adapting to new software and IT systems
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology
  • Exceptional patient service skills
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage patient confidentiality at all times
