Our client is looking for Sr. Azure & Virtualization Specialist to support a migration project for an Energy company.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Azure & Virtualization Specialist to support a high-impact project focused on migrating and modernizing their virtual desktop infrastructure. This initiative involves transitioning to Azure Local VDI and overhauling the existing Citrix environment.

Must Have's:

• 5+ years of proven experience with Azure Local VDI (mandatory)
• Strong background in virtualization technologies, including Citrix
• Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and services
• Familiarity with Microsoft-certified Azure Local hardware requirements
• Experience in VDI design, architecture, and implementation
• Ability to assess risks and provide mitigation strategies
• Strong understanding of Microsoft licensing models, particularly E5

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the design and implementation of Azure Local VDI solutions
• Assess and modernize the current Citrix environment
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define architecture, requirements, and deployment strategy
• Participate in a two-phase project approach:
• Design Phase: Develop architecture, validate requirements, and contribute to Statement of Work (SOW)
• Implementation Phase: Execute deployment and migration activities
• Evaluate Microsoft-certified Azure Local infrastructure, including hardware requirements (e.g., certified HP configurations)
• Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks associated with Azure Local deployment
• Review and validate licensing requirements, ensuring compatibility with Microsoft E5 licensing for VDI sessions
• Provide documentation, best practices, and knowledge transfer to internal teams
