Senior SAP BASIS Administrator for an upgrade Project

Our client is undertaking a major SAP landscape upgrade to ensure performance, scalability, and long-term supportability of its enterprise systems. The selected SAP BASIS Administrator will play a critical role in managing, supporting, and upgrading Suncor’s SAP environments across S/4HANA

Location - Calgary

Work Mode - On site 5 days per week

Duration - 6 months

Key responsibilities

The SAP BASIS and HANA Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting SAP landscapes, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW on HANA, SAP SLT, SAP Cloud Platform, and SAP BTP, hosted on the Azure cloud. The role involves performing system monitoring, transport management, SAP component and add-on upgrades, performance troubleshooting and tuning, as well as executing client and system copies. The administrator will also be responsible for background job management, HANA database administration, and handling patching and upgrade activities.

In addition, this position includes configuring SSO using SAML2, maintaining SAP systems, managing SOAMANAGER configurations based on project requirements, configuring the SAP Cloud Connector, and performing certificate updates across S/4HANA, BTP, and Cloud Connector environments. The administrator will ensure secure, stable, and optimized system operations across the SAP landscape through proactive maintenance and continuous system improvements.

Must Haves

Strong hands-on experience with SAP BASIS administration for systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW on HANA, SAP SLT, SAP BTP, and SAP Cloud Platform.

Proven experience with HANA database administration, including backup/restore, performance tuning, and patching.

Experience with Azure Cloud hosting and managing SAP systems on Azure infrastructure.

Hands-on experience configuring Single Sign-On (SSO) using SAML2.

Proficiency with SOAMANAGER configuration and Web Services setup.

Experience configuring and maintaining the SAP Cloud Connector.

Experience managing digital certificates and performing certificate updates across S/4HANA, BTP, and Cloud Connector environments.
