Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto - 2 days (Anchor days: Tuesday, Wednesdays)

Subject to change: 3-4 days onsite may be required based on business needs

Contract Duration: ASAP to Oct 31, 2026 - approx. 4.5 months (Possibility of extension and conversion to FTE)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need

Business group: GBME - Group Treasury and Risk Technology, Corporate & Commercial Banking Technology team

Project: The Fund Tracker application is a .Net MVC application that tracks limits for funds managed by certain counterparties. This project aims to include additional agency-managed funds at a global level, which includes additional data as well as updating the existing user management system that exists already to include LATAM country users, as well as enforce data segregation based on user portfolios. There are also existing extracts that need to be updated.

Onboarding additional agency funds to the applications; adding new users and more data; not an infrastructure level change, expecting major regression testing and ensuring none of the functionality has changes; currently there is no automating testing set up so looking to get that set up and working with AI to do so; Web UI application with Regression and UI testing

Typical Day in Role:

• Assess project and design test plans to determine the risk of releasing the code and ensure the updates specifically match current approved requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Execute complex test plans, co-ordinate with developers and bas on a daily basis to meet the specific requirements for the project.

• Maintain a thorough and current understanding of a broad range of assigned banking applications, UAT code configuration, system integration, environment resources and code delivery process.

• Forecast workday estimates based upon project documentation; monitor resource demands and escalate resource shortfalls or conflicts as required

• Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance personal breadth and depth of expertise and proactively apply knowledge on the job; identify and recommend enhancements or modifications to UAT processes to continually improve overall department efficiency and effectiveness

• Manage stakeholders and ensure alignment between business and technical teams

• Communicate complex ideas clearly and produce concise documentation

• Use AI assistants (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate test generation and automation; review, validate, and refine AI generated test cases to write clear, structured prompts to guide AI for test case generation/regression tests and help with automation of tests as well

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1) 7+ years of experience as a QA/QC Analyst, with hands-on experience gathering and analyzing requirements / user stories

2) Experience using AI assistants (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate test generation and automation with the ability to review, validate, and refine AI generated test cases and ability to write clear, structured prompts to guide AI for test case generation/regression tests and help with automation of tests as well

3) Experience demonstrating an end-to-end understanding of all SDLC phases

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1) Prior automation experience is desirable

2) Working experience in the banking/financial services industry would be an asset - specifically with the client Scotiabank

3) Knowledge of Credit and Risk applications preferred

4) Experience working in Agile environment

5) Bilingual in Spanish (conversational level or higher) to discuss with International Banking stakeholders

The best candidate will combine strong analytical skills with exceptional communication and a collaborative approach. They will have proven experience understanding overall application functionality and existing test cases, enabling them to contribute effectively from day one. Automation and AI experience would be valuable and set them apart. An average candidate may focus only on documentation and task execution, lack depth in understanding business processes or solutions, and require more guidance to engage stakeholders and add strategic value.
