Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect (10+ years) to guide strategic technology initiatives within Solid Waste Management Services

Join a high-impact assignment supporting the Client’s technology modernization projects launching in 2026. The role focuses on defining enterprise architecture, developing models and roadmaps, and aligning technology strategy across multiple capital initiatives including the Solid Waste Information Architecture Refresh, Technology Roadmap Update, and Application Portal 2.0. This engagement offers end-to-end ownership of architecture deliverables with significant cross-departmental visibility and strategic influence.

Contract, Toronto, Hybrid

Must Haves

• Progressive experience in solution architecture design and enterprise-level planning within large, complex environments
• Proven ability to develop architecture artefacts including models, roadmaps, and design documentation for strategic projects
• Hands-on experience with integration of enterprise technologies and cross-platform solutions
• Demonstrated process optimization and standardization expertise in technology implementation initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Nice to Have

• Certification such as TOGAF, ITIL, or COBIT
• Experience in public-sector or multi-stakeholder environments

Responsibilities

• Ensure technology investments align with business goals and deliver measurable return on investment
• Collect and document technical and non-technical requirements and translate them into architecture artefacts
• Define architectural principles, standards, and patterns to guide solution design decisions
• Develop target-state architectures and phased roadmaps supporting modernization initiatives
• Evaluate technology options and recommend solution approaches aligned with enterprise direction
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation and design decision records throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide technical leadership and communicate architecture decisions to senior management and technical teams
• Identify and manage solution design risks and ensure integration, security, and compliance considerations are met
• Support architecture reviews and validate vendor or proposed solutions for alignment with standards
• Contribute to downstream readiness by providing testing considerations and knowledge transfer documentation
