SAP MDM Solution Designer to support system integration design, testing, and documentation across various operational systems

Our large Oil & Gas industry client is seeking a SAP MDM Solution Designer to support system integration design, testing, and documentation across various operational systems.

This is an initial 6-month contract with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be based in Calgary and agreeable to working onsite in downtown Calgary.

Must-Haves:

• Proficiency with SAP Master Data Management, including with equipment, FLOC, hierarchy lifecycle, and parent-child relationships.
• Strong experience with integration design, including with MuleSoft and Kafka (middleware/ API platforms).
• Ability to analyze and validate source-to-target data mappings between MDM and consuming applications.
• Experience with SAP and common master data elements
• Experience with technical solution design requirements & integration documentation (building specs, gathering requirements, and overseeing development)
• Experience with API Validation & Integration Testing

• Experience with downstream operational systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on involvement in solution delivery, technical documentation, testing, and production support.
• Participate/Drive solution and system integration design activities, focusing on MDM-centric integrations. This includes working with equipment, FLOC, hierarchy, lifecycle, and parent-child relationships.
• Contribute/Finalize integration design decisions for both event-driven and interface-based solutions, utilising technologies such as Kafka, middleware platforms, and APIs.
• Analyze and validate source-to-target data mappings between MDM and consuming applications.
• Serve as a bridge between business requirements and technical build teams, ensuring alignment between stakeholder needs and system capabilities.
• Conduct hands-on API testing using tools such as Postman, including request and response validation, JSON/XML payload analysis, authentication management, and troubleshooting errors and exceptions.
• Create, update, and review System Integration Design (SID) and Technical/Functional Specification documents. Documentation includes integration overviews, scope definitions, systems and interfaces involved, process and data flow diagrams, interface/API details, and data mappings.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for integrated solutions, including the design and review of UAT scenarios.
