Quality Engineering Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Lead to lead and mentor our QE teams while driving testing excellence across our enterprise applications. In this role, you'll champion modern testing practices, oversee quality strategies, and ensure robust testing solutions across diverse platforms-from mainframe systems to cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QE teams in designing and implementing comprehensive testing strategies aligned with SDLC best practices
• Mentor junior QE engineers and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Architect and optimize test automation frameworks across multiple environments (mainframe, cloud, distributed systems, APIs)
• Oversee defect management, root cause analysis, and quality metrics reporting
• Drive CI/CD integration and automation pipeline optimization
• Collaborate with development, product, and operations teams to define quality standards
• Evaluate and implement emerging testing technologies and methodologies

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 7+ years in QE/QA with 5+ years focused on test automation at scale
• Good knowledge of QE Processes, Testing Life Cycle, SDLC and Defect Management processes for application testing, development and support
• Demonstrated expertise across multiple test automation frameworks:
• UI/Web: Selenium, Robot Framework
• API Testing: Postman, REST Assured, Karate
• BDD: Cucumber, Karate frameworks
• Other Testing frameworks: TestNG, Cypress, playwright.
• Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, UCD, Helios) and build tools (Gradle, Maven)
• Database expertise: DB2, Oracle, SQL, IMS with advanced SQL proficiency and NoSQL databases(e.g., MongoDB)
• Experience integrating AI agents into testing workflows to automate validation and enhance efficiency
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and modern ALM tools
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and test design techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, etc.)

Good to have - Familiarity with IBM MQ and asynchronous messaging patterns is advantageous for testing enterprise integration scenarios.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
• Industry certifications (ISTQB, CSTE) a plus
